Frequently Asked Questions
MY PET CANT BE OFF A LEASH, CAN WE STILL GET GOOD PHOTOS?
Absolutely. Nearly all the pets I photograph are on leashes. Thanks to a little magic & photoshop, leashes & collars will be our secret!
What if my pet is camera shy?
No problem. I take time to get to know your pet before the session so we can design a session with their comfort in mind & move at their pace. I also have a long lens that allows me to give your pet lots of space & still capture stunning images of them!
My pet is reactive to other animals / humans is a session possible for us?
Absolutely. While we can’t control everything like the wild life, we will choose a location, atmosphere & design a session that’s comfortable & enjoyable for your pet. I also have a long lens that allows me to give your pet plenty of space while still capturing beautiful shots.
I have a B.S. degree in Psychology, have studied & have a lot of experience in applied behavioral analysis & used to volunteer training shelter dogs. I’ve also fostered & adopted abused bunnies & dogs, so I’m comfortable & experienced working with pets that have had a hard past or are reactive.
What species do you photograph?
ALL of them! It doesn’t matter if they’re hairless, have fur or scales. Most of my clients are dogs, bunnies & cats but I’ve also worked with horses, pigs, reptiles & chickens!
Can harnesses be edited out?
I’m pretty good with photoshop but I do have my limitations. Harnesses hide so much of the dog’s chest that it’s very challenging to accurately rebuild those pixels in post-production. Gentle leaders & harnesses can leave shadows & pull on the skin so they can’t be digitally removed.
I do not guarantee that final images will be free of harnesses or gentle leaders. Sometimes it’s the same case with collars that are too thick.
A collar and leash is best.
MY PET doesn’t know any commands, is that okay?
Totally! Standing & movement makes for some truly amazing photos & are usually the favorites! Your pet just gets to be themselves while you get to laugh at my array of weird noises & things I use to get their attention. My camera also takes up to 20 photos PER SECOND so really all I need is a quick second of the perfect expression to get the shot.
I have lots of pets, can we get them all in the same shot?
We can definitely get all your pets in one photo whether it’s by photoshop or getting them in the same shot. Please see the packages above to see how many pets are included in each package. We can always create a custom package if needed!
Can I be in the photos?
Of course! While I feature mostly pets on my page (because I just LOVE them) humans are almost always included unless they don’t wanna be in the photos. Just check out my portfolio!
Is it possible to photograph super hyper pets that don’t stop moving?
Yes. My camera can capture up to 20 photos per second. I successfully capture clear, fun, personality filled images of pets all the time - I ain’t even worried and always come ready for a workout!
